Douglas County Property Owners:

The 2025 Assessment Notices have been mailed out. Any individuals owning real property in Douglas County who did not receive a 2025 Assessment Notice by March 14, 2025, should notify the Director of Equalization office at (605) 724-2688. Please notify the office if your mailing address is incorrect on the notices.

Assessed valuations are reduced by a factor to arrive at a taxable level required statewide by law. Therefore, property owners are not taxed at their full assessed valuations nor are the levies calculated or based upon the full assessed valuation.
